Our favorite product is the company's flag ship, the Flex-I-File. The simplistic design is ideal for curved surfaces, specifically barrels and fuselage spines. Every time we encounter a curved surface, we use it. It has proved to be a huge time saver. By using the Flex-I-File you eliminate the worry of creating a flat spot. The sandpaper forms around the curved surface creating a perfectly smooth seamless surface. The complete kit comes with five different grits (150, 280, 320, 400, and 600). Additionally, the laminated sandpaper is durable and safe to use with water.
In addition to the Flex-I-File, they produce the Flex-Pad series. The Flex-Pad sanding stick is a foam padded stick allowing for even pressure distribution. We love it because of the angled end. This is one of the only sanding sticks on the market that boasts such a simple feature. If the angled end is not to your liking, just cut it. Lastly, the Flex-Pad can be used for wet and dry sanding applications.
The last Flex-I-File product we examine is the Touch-N-Flow system. The Touch-N-Flow system is a new approach to applying liquid cement. Using their Plast-I-Weld liquid cement, the Touch-N-Flow applicator can be used for pin point application in tight spaces. Furthermore, you won't have to refill the applicator, like you do with a brush, during an application. We recommend buying the complete system. The system contains the applicator, weld, refilling bottle. If you don't, be sure to still use their Plast-I-Weld solvent, normal solvents are too viscous for the applicator.
Ultimately, Flex-I-File has created a superb line of modeling products. They're easy and fun to use.
